OUR MISSION
The team at The Hobby Spot’s goal is to fuel the passion for collecting by connecting enthusiasts with the cards they love, while strengthening our community through active support and charitable giving.
As our platform and community continued to grow, we recognized the importance of creating meaningful, measurable impact through our charitable efforts. While we have always wanted to support as many causes and organizations as possible, we ultimately made the decision to focus our long-term charitable support on a select group of organizations where we felt we could make the greatest difference within our local community.
We are proud to provide ongoing support to Leduc Food Bank, October Saves, the Ben Stelter Foundation and the Leduc Minor Hockey Association, along with our annual rotating charity partnership through our charity golf tournament initiative. By concentrating our efforts on a smaller number of organizations, we believe we are able to contribute in a more impactful and meaningful way year after year.
Our annual charity golf tournament serves as our rotating yearly fundraising initiative, allowing us to support an additional organization each year through a dedicated community event. This year, our chosen beneficiary is KidSport Leduc. Organizations interested in being considered as a featured future charity partner are welcome to contact us by email to apply for sponsorship consideration.

BEN STELTER FOUNDATION
The shop was introduced to The Stelter Foundation through a mutual friend. We were honoured to be invited to the first annual Ben Stelter Hockey Memorial Tournament in 2023 to help raise money for children diagnosed with cancer.
After meeting Mike and his family, and witnessing how they transformed such a difficult personal experience into a mission focused on creating a meaningful impact for others, it’s hard to overstate how motivating it has been to contribute and be a part of their journey.
Their mission stands as a symbol of hope for children and families impacted by cancer, and The Hobby Spot is incredibly proud and honoured to play even a small role in supporting their annual mission.
October Saves
We first met LJ through a mutual connection and followed her cancer journey and fight from afar. We later reconnected through a sponsorship with the Canadian Women’s National Ball Hockey Team, where we were able to see firsthand how she turned her personal battle with cancer into something powerful — raising awareness and funds each October through Hockey Fights Cancer initiatives.
Like so many others, our team and customer community have all been impacted in some way by cancer through friends, family, and loved ones. Because of that, we are incredibly proud to support LJ and her annual campaign to help raise money in the fight against cancer.
Stay tuned this October as we host a card show and online fundraiser to support her mission and help make a meaningful impact.
“My name is LJ and I have been fundraising with October Saves for 4 or 5 years now. In 2024 I was diagnosed with appendix cancer which made the campaign even more meaningful to me. After two major surgeries that same year, one including HIPEC, I was given the all clear on October 31, 2024. The final day for October Saves campaign; which was incredibly powerful to me. I had endless support during my journey and to this day so it means the world to me to be able to continue giving back.”
LEDUC FOOD BANK RESULTS
Giving back to our community has always been an important part of what we do at The Hobby Spot. Since 2021, with the incredible support of our customers and community, we have proudly contributed over $254,690 in cash and food value to the Leduc Food Bank, which included more than 13,820kg of food to help local families in need.
In 2025 alone, our community has already helped contribute over $75,115 including 2721kg of food donated — and we’re just getting started.
We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who supports our events, fundraisers, and initiatives throughout the year. Every pack opened, spot filled, and purchase made helps us continue making a meaningful impact locally.

THE HOBBY SPOT ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT
Each year, The Hobby Spot proudly hosts our annual charity golf tournament as a way to bring our community together while supporting an incredible cause. What started as a fun day of golf, prizes, and community involvement has grown into an event focused on making a meaningful local impact.
For 2026, we are honoured to support KidSport Leduc as our sponsored charity. All proceeds from this year’s tournament will go directly toward helping local kids gain access to sports by assisting families with registration fees and equipment costs.
We believe every child deserves the opportunity to play, compete, and be part of a team, regardless of financial barriers. Through the support of our customers, sponsors, players, and community partners, this tournament helps create those opportunities for kids right here in our local community.

The Hobby Spot is proud to support Leduc Minor Hockey Association and the incredible role it plays in our community. Minor hockey helps teach young athletes the value of teamwork, dedication, leadership, and sportsmanship while creating lifelong friendships and memories both on and off the ice.
As a locally owned business, supporting programs that positively impact kids and families in our community is something that means a great deal to us.
